TCCU Increases Giving by Over 100% Texoma Community Credit Union was recognized recently by the United Way, who honored TCCU with its prestigious "Honor Award" for their fundraising efforts during the 2005 United Way campaign. TCCU was able to get 98% participation from its employees, and achieved one of the highest per capita employee donation levels of any business in the Wichita Falls area. Overall, TCCU's United Way donations for 2005 were up by over 100% from the previous year. During its annual "Points of Light" recognition dinner event, which was held during the holiday season, the North Texas Area United Way named TCCU's Human Resources Director, Lezlie McInturff, as their "Loaned Executive of the Year" for her tremendous efforts on their behalf. Loaned Executives are employees of local businesses who are "loaned" by their employers to work closely with other area businesses during the annual United Way campaign to develop individual workplace fundraising campaigns for the United Way. In addition to its United Way giving in 2005, TCCU was able to raise an impressive $12,200 for Children's Miracle Network. Donations were raised through TCCU's annual holiday "Skip-a-Payment" program, where some members are asked for a donation to CMN when they skip a holiday loan payment. TCCU also contributed to programs like Habitat for Humanity, the Holt Restoration Project, The Alzheimers Association, 4H and FFA, high school athletics, YMCA, Scouting, and many other worthy causes. Wayne Mansur, President of TCCU, said, "TCCU will always strive to be a good corporate citizen of this great community."
